Tuesday thoughts – get ACTIVE

At my old office I suffered from daily back and shoulder pains because of our office chairs, which really effected my life quality. When I was done working I normally went straight home to my couch. Well, not anymore! Varier chairs have not only cured my back and shoulder pains, but I also generally feel more energetic. Surprised? YES. But really, it’s not that surprising when you think about, is it?

Basically for most of us, the chair in our office is where we spend most hours awake. It’s the essential piece of furniture in our life next to the bed we sleep in. It’s where you spend most parts of your life. With that in your mind, ask yourself if you would sleep in a bed that was bad for you? Would you buy a bed that you knew was hurting your back, neck and overall health? Well, I wouldn’t! But that’s what most people are doing with office chairs, it doesn’t matter if it’s expensive chairs or cheaper chairs, if they are not made to make you move, they are bad for you!

Recent studies have showed that sitting for hours is just as bad for your health as smoking. While this might be hard to believe, it actually makes sense. The amount of hours you sit without being active is harming the blood-flow in your body making your organs suffer. It also makes you sleepy and less able to concentrate and focus combine that with back and shoulder pain and I don’t see the reason not to try Active Sitting!
